Virus Protection - You Need One!

Viruses in Email Attachments

You must be very cautious when you open email attachments. Just because you know the person sending you an email with an attachment doesn't make it safe to open. A person's computer may have a virus that they are not aware of, and it may be sent on to you without them knowing. You must carefully check the extension of an email attachment before you open it. If the extension is any of the following, DO NOT open it. If you have an antivirus program that is current, and you have some knowledge of how to use it, you can save the attachment to your hard drive and then scan it with the antivirus program.

These file types may contain viruses:
something.bat
something.com
something.exe
something.html
something.lnk
something.mtx
something.pif
something.scr
something.shs
something.vbs
something.zip
